Brunch gives you the best of two meals. Not quite breakfast and not quite lunch, brunch foods are rich and satisfying. Everyone loves to go out for brunch. With the addition of Fort Lauderdale sunshine and soft ocean breezes, brunch is a perfect way to start the day. Our list covers a range of restaurants that serve a wide variety of brunches. Have fun trying each one!
What a brunch! Every Sunday, Big Tomato Market Grill pulls out all the stops on this top-notch spread. Just about anything you can think of graces the restaurant's ample tables, from poached salmon, eggs, waffles to several varieties of breakfast meats. Design your own omelet and then watch a smiling chef prepare it for you or try some roast beef or turkey from the carving station. Have a hankering for cheese blintzes? Add sour cream, preserves and dig in. The restaurant's Italian roots dictate a few Italian dishes, including specialty pastas and eggplant and veal dishes. Serious brunch lovers return here every week. After your first visit, there's a good chance you will too.

THE FLORIDIAN 1410 East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305 (954) 463-4041
Average brunch prices range from $7.00 to $11.00
Since 1937, Fort Lauderdale's movers and shakers have gathered here for daily brunch. On any given day, you're likely to see an important business negotiation conducted at one weathered table, while just feet away a journalist interviews an influential visitor (possibly a film or recording star). Park your diet plans at the door, since portions are huge and there's little, if any, concern given to fat or calorie content. The grilled roast beef and eggs, served with home fries and a biscuit is a Floridian brunch staple. The sausage sandwich is a meat lover's dream. Want to celebrate? The $300 breakfast, made up of steak, eggs and a bottle of Dom Perignon, will keep you smiling for the rest of the day.
SHOOTERS 3033 NE 32nd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 (954) 566-2855
Prices: $21.99 per adults, $10.99 per child under 12
Everyone in Fort Lauderdale has heard about Shooters. Why? For starters, a boat dock and valet parking make getting there a breeze. Inside, the relaxed comfortable atmosphere, multiple bars and fabulous food draw crowds. Ask for an inside table where it's cool or sit outside and watch the boats go by on the Intracoastal. The Sunday brunch is a sumptuous spread, with all the traditional breakfast favorites, plus salads, pasta, and a collection of sweet treats. Shooters prepares everything from scratch, so some items on the table change from week to week, depending on what's fresh and in-season. Reservations are accepted only for large parties.
THE RIVER HOUSE 301 Southwest 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 (954) 525-7661
Prices: $28.95 per person
Located along the scenic Riverwalk on the north side of the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale, this enchanting house has been restored to resemble an early 1900's dwelling. Enjoy a memorable Sunday brunch served in one of the home's many elegant dining rooms, or on the patio under the shady trees. A complimentary mimosa, Bloody Mary or glass of champagne sets the tone for the rest of the meal. The chefs use only the freshest ingredients available, and the elegant brunch tables reflect their care. Sometimes the food here is almost too pretty to eat! Save room for at least one of the rich and tasty desserts. Call ahead for reservations.
TOWER DELI & DINER 2315 South University Drive, Davie, FL 33324 (954) 452-8202
Average brunch prices range from $4.00 to $10.00
You'll feel like you stepped back in time when you enter the Tower Deli. Tucked away in strip shopping center on University Drive, the small deli has a retro décor and a friendly, family atmosphere. Newcomers are surprised to know that most of the staff has worked together here for over fifteen years! Their dedication shows; after one visit you'll be known by name and your personal tastes will be remembered. Tower's brunch menu is astounding. Side dishes are included with most entrees. Prices are so reasonable you might check the menu twice to make sure you're are getting all that food for such a small sum.
BIMINI BOATYARD 1555 SE 17th Street Causeway Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 (954) 525-7400 Now although many of us think of the Bimini Boatyard as the perfect "gathering spot" after work or for fun and casual fair it just might be the perfect spot for a leisurely Sunday Brunch. If you want to get away from the traditional brunches and just relax while sipping champagne and looking at million dollar yachts this is the place. I have never been disappointed at the Bimini Boatyard! The oak fired pizzas are great and if you like seafood try any of their delectable varieties prepared on an open grill. Here's a place you can enjoy a more casual and relaxed time, if that is what you would prefer.
Average brunch menu prices range from $6.00 to $10.00.
GIORGIO'S GRILL 606 N. Ocean Drive Hollywood, FL 33019 (954) 929-7030 If you can't afford to charter that jet to Greece this year then a trip to Giorgio's Grill is the second best thing! Again, as with many of my favorite brunch spots, it's on the water so you can pretend that you are on an exotic Grecian Isle. This is truly one of the hottest spots along the waterway for brunch and that is probably because of the versatility of the menu. However, when in Greece, do like the Greeks, don't pass up many of the specialties like the Greek salads and for the garlic lovers some great pastas. Also, add a little Ouzo and smash a few plates!
Prices: $18.00 for adults and $14.00 for children.
CALIFORNIA CAFE 2301 SE 17th Street Hyatt Pier 66 Hotel Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 (954) 728-3500 Many fine brunches are featured in hotels. But this isn't just any hotel this is the famous "Pier 66." A landmark of dockage of millionaire's yachts in such a beautiful setting makes for a very special day. Stop and take it all in with some champagne or a tropical cocktail or any of their fine wines and take in a brunch that can take you away without ever leaving your table. Gaze out at the marina and dream of some of a tropical paradise that these "floating mansions" have traveled to. Enjoy the pampering from the staff and the pampering to your palate as well. Again, many things away from typical brunch fair here and everything absolutely delicious.
Average price around $18.95 per person.
BLUE MOON FISH COMPANY 4405 W. Tradewinds Avenue Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL 33308 (954) 267-9888 My first brunch experience here was during one of their fabulous "Gospel Brunches." Here you are, yes again on the water (after all this is Florida), enjoying the view and fabulous food while listening to a gospel ensemble to put you into that "Sunday mood" no matter what congregation you happen to be part of. Now although they no longer feature the Gospel singers at brunch, you will still love to sample foods and sauces that are unique to the Blue Moon Fish Company. And, you may think there is truly "divine intervention" when you sample out of this world desserts. You will walk out knowing that once in a Blue Moon we all get something right!
Prices: $29.95 for adults and $1.00 per age, up to 12 for children.
