When a spring day calls for a sunny Sunday brunch, try Jimmy’s on the Park in the Demun area. Jimmy’s Sunday brunch is complimented by jazz music provided by Jim Manley and Mark Friedricks. The brunch menu starts off with a variation of one of chef’s self-proclaimed specials – tenderloin. The tenderloin Benedict takes the form of an English muffin topped with grilled tenderloin, poached egg, and finished with hollandaise sauce. Beef and eggs also appear in the steak omelet. For those craving seafood, options include the crablette with tomato, bacon, fresh mozzarella and lump crab meat folded in a fluffy omelet, the lobster/crabcakes and eggs with two grilled lobster/crabcakes and poached eggs topped with cilantro-lime hollandaise, or the lobster scramble with scrambled eggs with lobster. More traditional brunch fare on the menu are buttermilk pancakes and French toast. A children’s menu, as well as salads and sandwiches are also available.

DUFF'S 392 N. Euclid St. Louis MO 314-361-0522 Hours: Monday - Thursday 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM, Friday - Saturday 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, Closed Mon. Brunch Sat & Sun 10-2pm When the weather in St. Louis is pleasant, expect a wait for a table to enjoy the most famous brunch in St. Louis, even though the outside seating nearly doubles the restaurant's capacity! Duff's brunch menu is expansive, its tradition for excellence and imagination unparalleled and its atmosphere inviting. Although you may hate it while you're waiting, the waitstaff keep the pace even, creating a calm but efficient buzz that energizes conversations without getting loud. And the food is delicious. A variety of specialty items, like the exquisite Quiche Marie and a plentiful Steak, Mushroom, Onion and Swiss Omelette, bump the overall cost up a bit higher than other restaurants, but there's a large selection of reasonably priced items as well. Of the less expensive items, I highly recommend the Cinnamon-Raisin French Toast, the touch of vanilla accentuated by pure maple syrup. This place is a favorite for good reasons, that's why reservations are accepted and encouraged.

A labor of love for a local couple, this quaint restaurant was remodeled using fixtures from shuttered taverns and pubs and has an inviting coziness even with its high ceilings and expansive windows. The menu reflects the warmth of the place featuring traditional German selections and lots of meat. The sausage has a homemade spiciness and the fried potatoes, with onions, are even better than my grandmother's. Potato pancakes are another house favorite, filling but not heavy and delicious with a little boysenberry jam. Come with a healthy appetite but make sure to leave room for a piece of the excellent apple strudel.
