Dallas/Ft.Worth ignites with atmosphere, cuisine, and affordable satisfaction with its wide selection of area restaurants. Many residents and visitors alike enjoy a good portion of food when dining. The Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex is no exception and offers up immense, yet inexpensive, entrees as the main course. The environment is casual as well as exciting and the friendly and outgoing Southern hospitality entices one to visit time and time again.

Double Dave's Pizzaworks has to be just about one of the best pizzerias in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. Double Dave's offers individual orders or you can enjoy the buffet lunch and/or dinner. Bright and cheerful Tex-Mex restaurant serving up great ceviche and exquisite fish tacos. The entrees are huge and a "doggie-bag" is almost an inevitable request when it comes time for paying the check. Guiso de puerco with pork tenderloin is a wonderfully beautiful dish that is definitely worth trying. The dιcor is reminiscent of the brilliant southwest colors of New Mexico and their Indian culture. Blue Goose is a popular spot at any of the three Dallas locations.

The Purple Cow gives you the feel of the 50's in a new and exciting atmosphere. The herb-fried mushrooms and cheese sticks appetizers are excellent and compliment their burgers great. Another great dish is the meatloaf, which stands out like no other meatloaf eaten in some time. The kid's menu is also setup with a good helping of selections as well.

Gator's is a West End party spot with seating along the sidewalk and on the patio. The restaurant also includes live music and an open rooftop with a great view of Downtown Dallas. Freshly-made frozen custard can be hard to come by these days; luckily, Wild About Harry's helps to fill the gap. The slightly more nutritious specialty, though, is hot dogs, which Harry's handles with remarkable flair. On the simpler side of the offerings is the Knox Street, a standard frank with 1000 island dressing, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese; at the opposite end of the spectrum, the Great Southwest Fire Dog features spicy Polish sausage, mustard, relish, tomato, sport pepper, pickle, celery salt, and cayenne pepper. And aside from the custard proper, the dessert menu also sports shakes some of which are made with custard, of course.

The Park Cities area's favorite award-winning comfort food purveyor has achieved national recognition for its delectable southern style, which may explain why the drive-through line is always such a hassle around rush hour. The menu centers around chicken-fried steak, fried chicken and the like; sides include corn on the cob, green beans, and mashed potatoes that are unlike anything available anywhere else. Even the rolls deserve a mention. Most everything is available in large take-home portions; the chicken family pack is a particularly sweet deal.
