Tucked away in a neighborhood with character instead of affluence on 1035 E 4th St, La Fuente is a bona fide mom-and-pop restaurant for all those that appreciate generous authenticity to glossy ambience. On the particular night that I visited, the waiter was the cook, and the cook was the hostess—that’s right, just “pop” was in that night. Our everyman was more than able to serve up delicious and affordable dining for any lover of Mexican cuisine. My Verde Chicken Enchiladas were the perfect mix of a crisp, warm outside tortilla, and a succulent, smooth filling of cheese and chicken. The rice and beans were a satisfying compliment to the generous enchiladas. After I cleaned my plate, I felt as though I had consumed almost twice the normal amount of food one would normally get at a restaurant—all for the price of one. La Fuente is a dining experience one must treat themselves to for no-frills excellence!

Si, La Fuente es numero uno, es verde. I love this place and I try to go there each and every time that I am in that crazy part of town. I recommend the enchiladas and the smooth chile rellenos, For the flavors, the textures and an overall good meal, you cannot go malo with La Fuente. Ask Jose (one of the managers) for some of the very secret not-on-the-menu items at La Fuente, especially for the Great Flying Burrito! Excellent place!
