I've had some of the best pizza of my life from Taos Pizza Outback (the exact address is 712 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, Taos, New Mexico). Taos is a few hours north of Santa Fe, not too far from the Colorado border.
This restaurant offers a really hearty meal. I recommend that you show up extremely hungry because the pizza is huge. You have a lot of choices regarding what toppings you get. Spend some time perusing the menu before going with the usual pepperoni.
The only thing you need to watch out for is the rate at which you eat. I got sick from eating too much, too fast. The pizza and sauce might be affordable, but it's also very rich. You can also get a calzone or salad, if you don't want pizza.
As New Mexico is known for its beautiful outdoors, enjoy the outdoor breeze while you eat. I love the plethora of graffiti at this restaurant! It's everywhere--all over the tables, walls, etc. It reminds me a little of Gino's Pizza in Chicago.
